All animals must be PA tested at an accredited lab (CCA or Quantum) with the results submitted to the SCA at the time of entry for publication in the show program.

The Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will be held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, starting at 11:30 AM at Canadian Western Agribition in conjunction with the National Charolais Show in Regina, SK.
The entry fee for the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 is $1,500 for a first bull calf and $500 for each additional bull. The entry fee entitles the operation to one membership and one vote in all classes of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025, regardless of whether a single or multiple bulls are shown.
Each entry receives two jackets – sizes of jackets are selected when making entry.
Participating Breeding Establishments are only allowed to hold one membership in the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025.
If a breeding establishment wishes to participate in judging the event without exhibiting any bulls, a fee of $1,000 will be levied. This will allow the breeding establishment one vote in all classes of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 and receive all privileges in the event, including 10 straws of semen on the Champion bull. A direct family member representing the breeding establishment must be present in person to be allowed to vote in the event. Proxy votes are not allowed. Only one person per Player’s Club Membership will be allowed in the ring at the time of judging.
Partnership bull calves are eligible to be entered in the Player’s Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity only if all co-owners of the bull calf in question are individual members. The co-owned bull calf can be included as a multiple bull calf of any of the co-owners as per above. Details of co-ownership must be submitted to the SCA before November 25, or any potential prize money will be paid to the entrant of the bull calf.
Calendar year bull calves must be entered in both the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 and the National Show at Canadian Western Agribition on Oct 1, 2025.
All substitutions must be made through Canadian Western Agribition in the allotted timeframe and will be subject to applicable fees as set out in the 2025 Canadian Western Agribition Rules & Regulations. All bull calves entered in the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 must be accompanied by a PA test completed through the Canadian Charolais Association, Calgary AB or Quantum Genetix, Saskatoon SK. PA tests can be submitted via email to saskcharolais@gmail.com on or before Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Calendar year bull calves entered in the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will compete to win prize money awarded as follows: Champion $50,000. The prize will be awarded to the selected bull’s exhibitor once qualified; acceptable semen is successfully frozen on the bull. The winning member will have until May 15, 2026, to produce viable frozen semen, or the prize money will be forfeited. All semen will be collected at Bovigen Genetix Services in Moose Jaw, SK.
Each membership in the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will receive 10 straws of semen from the Champion bull. In the unlikely event that the Champion of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 does not produce acceptable semen in the time frame allotted, the Saskatchewan Charolais Association will refund 90% of the entry fee to each membership holder by July 1, 2026.
The winning bull will be subject to parentage verification as well as PA test confirmation, with testing to be done through the Canadian Charolais Association should entry PA testing be completed at Quantum Genetix. The Saskatchewan Charolais Association will cover all costs associated with testing. In the event the Champion of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 does not parent verify, the Saskatchewan Charolais Association will refund 90% of the entry fee to each membership holder by July 1, 2026.
The Champion bull of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will become the property of the Saskatchewan Charolais Association following the event and will be insured accordingly by the breeder of the bull. A ¼ semen interest will remain with the original owner of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 Champion. The Saskatchewan Charolais Association will sell ¾ interest and full possession of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 Champion in the Superstar Sale in Saskatoon, SK, on December 21, 2025. The original owner is expected to care for and deliver the Champion to Saskatoon 2 days before the sale on Thursday, December 19, 2025.
The Champion bull of the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will not be exhibited in the National Show on November 26, 2025, at Agribition. Calf is permitted to remain on display for the duration of the event.
By entering a bull into the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025, the exhibitor agrees that if his/her bull is selected as Champion, they will not market any semen in 2025 and 2026. Semen may be drawn for use by the original owner of the bull and the purchaser of ¾ interest and possession lot at the 2025 Superstar Sale. However, no sales or gifts of such semen will be allowed from the original owner or the ¾ interest and full possession lot purchaser without risk of forfeiture of the prize amount in Canada. International semen sales (including any country other than Canada) are not restricted in any way.
The Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 Members may resell their 10 straws of semen at their discretion.
Costs to collect the semen for the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 will be covered by the Saskatchewan Charolais Association and/or its sponsors. Any additional semen drawn for the original owner or the purchaser of the ¾ interest and full possession lot will be the responsibility of said parties.
Based on the number of bulls entered, the SCA will decide on the exact format to determine the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 Champion.
The SCA will provide a branded gift and host a ticketed supper event before the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 at Canadian Western Agribition for all membership holders. The SCA will use its discretion to distribute tickets and merchandise for this event.
The SCA Board will interpret all rules above and holds the right to refuse any entry which does not meet the qualifications, rules, and regulations set out in this document.
The SCA is not responsible for any loss associated with the Players Club Breeder’s Bull Calf Futurity 2025 and is simply acting as a third party in hosting this event.
